What to Expect From Online Pilates
Have you tried online Pilates yet? I started teaching Pilates online and in person, over 10 years ago. My clients love my online classes because I help keep their workouts fresh and challenging, even if they don’t have any equipment. When you take online Pilates with me, you get the convenience of working out from home with an experienced instructor. You don’t have to commute. You don’t have to wonder if you are doing the exercise correctly or what to do if it doesn’t feel right in your body. I’m there to help guide you and find the right movement for your body and achieve positive results. Ready to achieve your positive results? You can book an online Pilates session with me here.
Maybe you think it’s too much technology to deal with but it’s a lot easier than you think! If you can use email and Zoom or FaceTime to talk to friends and family, you can take online Pilates! Some of my in person clients were hesitant to try online Pilates at first. Once they did they decided they liked it so much they added an extra session or two a week.
I teach Virtual Pilates sessions over Zoom and my students love them. I also have a membership group with on demand Pilates workouts. This is a good way to get your workout in, as you have to stay accountable to someone and your workout is still based on your needs at that time. I even check in with you weekly to help you stay on top of your health goals if you are a part of my membership group. My clients love my virtual Pilates sessions because I have lots of pre-pandemic experience teaching online. I get creative with their sessions. I help them get what they need out of their workout that day, help them feel better in their body and they are getting a lot stronger!
Right now, it’s more important than ever to carve out time for yourself. One of my clients recently said “I had no idea how badly I needed this time to focus on myself, not have to talk to anyone and just move my body. I’m happy I kept my session because I needed this stress relief.”
Here’s a review from Lani about her take on my online Pilates classes:
Pilates is great stress relief, among other things. The breathing and focus on your body will help you find some time to escape. Even if you haven’t left your house in a while.
You don’t even need any equipment to do a virtual session. If you don’t have a mat you can lay on two towels or carpet is usually enough padding to protect your spine. You can use things you already have at home. I’ll often see something in the background of client’s workout space and have them add it in to the workout. We’ve used brooms, paper plates and even dog toys to enhance or add challenge to their session! Let me tell you, that dog toy worked out so well we used it a few times!
Virtual Pilates helps you stay consistent with your practice. Pilates helps you deal with stress, get your blood pumping and helps you stay healthy. If you are ready to try online Pilates I can help!
Here are some tips to help you know what to expect and have an awesome virtual Pilates session:
Make sure you have space around you to move. Pilates sometimes involves rolling exercises and you don’t want to run into anything.
If you are taking a live class, make sure I can see you in the video. If you can’t get an angle so your full body is visible that’s ok. I can still tell what’s going on with the rest of your body, even if I can’t see it all at once.
Just like in person sessions, I give you helpful cues and suggestions too. Even on pre-recorded classes!
Have an open mind. Virtual private sessions can help you keep moving by providing accountability. I’ll guide you through movement based on your needs that day and working toward your short and long term goals.
My pre-recorded classes in my Pilates membership group are made with your needs in mind. If you let me know what your goals are, I make a class around that information. If I know you want to work on breathing, the Teaser or building your upper body strength I’ve got you covered! I make these classes for your needs, not for my workout.
If you do have Pilates or exercise equipment, like a magic circle or weights, make sure they are readily available to use in your session.
My group classes are now four week workshops so we can work on building a skill or technique instead of just a one off class. I created these four week workshops to help you reach your goals in a small group, live format.
If you are committed to getting stronger, more flexible and keeping up with your exercise this year I can help! I offer live in person private sessions, small group four week live workshops and on demand workouts to fit in on your own time.
Taking Pilates is part of keeping your energy up and your stress low so you can stay healthy. Pilates helps you breath fully so you can get all the unhealthy air out of your lungs. The fresh oxygen helps to purify your blood. The movement and breathing helps the blood pump faster and travel through your body better. You can still get in quality workouts with an experienced instructor no matter where you are! You can sign up for my on demand Pilates membership group here. Sign up here for workshops. Whatever you do keep moving!
